HOUSTON – H-E-B is launching the addition of a FREE prenatal vitamin program available through the My H-E-B Rx Rewards Platinum card at H-E-B Pharmacy locations statewide on Wednesday, April 30. The Prenatal Vitamin Program provides free prescription strength prenatal vitamins to all expecting mothers. Customers will be able to fill this prescription for a one month supply per order, for up to 12 months.

“H-E-B cares about the health and well-being of our customers, and we want to ensure that staying healthy is made affordable and convenient,” said Winell Herron, group vice president of Public Affairs & Diversity for H-E-B. “The new prenatal vitamin program is the perfect addition to the H-E-B Pharmacy line of services and Rx Rewards Platinum Card offerings.”

The three prescription strength prenatal vitamins offered in the program are NatalCare, Cal-Nate and Prenatal Plus. The prenatal vitamin program will only be offered to customers who have enrolled in the My H-E-B Rx Rewards Platinum program. My H-E-B Rx Rewards Platinum Card is the only retailer-provided prescription discount card to offer discounts on 500 generic drugs for just $5 each, discounts on ALL generic drugs, discounts on ALL brands, a 90 day supply for $9.99 on 500 Generic Drugs, free routine health and wellness screenings, a free prenatal vitamin program. Health and wellness screenings will be held every second Saturday from May 10 through October 11, 2008. Some of the screenings offered include free blood pressure and glucose screenings, along with total cholesterol and lipid panel screenings for a nominal fee. My H-E-B Rx Rewards Platinum Cardholders are also eligible for discounts on all immunizations, a free diabetic starter kit, a $30 Platinum Coupon Book and discounts on select pet medications.

H-E-B Pharmacy

The My H-E-B Rx Rewards Platinum Card requires a one time fee of $5. All customers are welcome to enroll in the program. Under the program, customers can also sign up for Refill Express, which allows them to have their prescriptions automatically refilled without having to call or stop by the H-E-B Pharmacy. Customers are notified via phone that the prescription is ready, when they are out of refills or prescriptions are returned to stock.
