Job Title: Temporary Communication and Voter Outreach Assistant
Job Classification: Deputy County Clerk
Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Mon.-Fri., some weekends and evenings as necessary (1600 hrs, maximum: $11.59/per hour/minimum: undetermined)
Department: Communications and Voter Outreach
Supervisor: Director of Communications and Voter Outreach
Scope: The position provides support to various functions within the Communications and Voter Outreach Department and Elections Department
Responsibilities:
， Support activities related to the Language Assistance Program;
， Assist in preparation election materials and conduct of the Chinese Advisory Committee meetings and bilingual election clerk trainings;
o Support activities related to the distribution of elections materials in the community;
o Assist with outreach to various community groups, media outlets, and members of the public;
o Help in the review of translated minority language election materials and outreach materials;
o Coordinate and staff various community outreach events (such as civic association meetings, voting demonstrations, trainings and school presentations);
o Assist with the maintenance of the Chinese section of the County Clerk¨s elections page;
， Help in maintenance of contact lists for important entities within the County:
o Community Organizations
o Elected Officials and candidates ( local)
o Independent School Districts
o Religious and Community Organization
o Colleges and University
o Advisory Committee members
o Media
o other relevant organizations
， Answer telephone;
， Other duties as assigned at the discretion of the Administrator of Elections and the Director of Communications and Voter Outreach;
The County Clerk¨s Office is looking to hire 4 temporary bilingual English/Chinese speaking clerks to work a total of 1,600 hours through this election cycle. This might turn into a full-time job when funds are approved. They need someone very quickly. Please distribute.
